Family and friends around the world will be able to watch as close to 200 Vancouver Island University students receive degrees at the Port Theatre in Nanaimo on Thursday and Friday afternoon.
“We had a very positive response when we provided a live webcast of convocation ceremonies for the first time last June,” said VIU President Ralph Nilson. “We have students from close to 70 countries at VIU. The webcast is a wonderful way to bring convocation to friends and family all over the world who cannot attend the celebrations in person.”
VIU employees and community members who are unable to attend convocation in person can sign on to the Internet to watch Winter Convocation which will be held starting at 2:30 pm (PST) Feb. 9 and Feb. 10.
Live streaming video of convocation was also shown on large monitors in VIU’s upper cafeteria and Welcome Centre at the Nanaimo campus.
