VIU’S VISUAL ARTS DEPARTMENT ORGANIZES ART & CULTURE TOUR TO SPAIN, PORTUGAL AND MOROCCO

In May 2014 the Visual Arts program at Vancouver Island University is offering an exciting art and cultural tour of Portugal, Spain and Morocco, open to both the public and VIU students. Two information sessions about the tour will be held on Monday, Sept. 23, and Thursday, Oct. 24, at 4:30 pm on VIU’s Nanaimo campus.


The 16-day tour (with an optional extension in Barcelona for an additional three days) will include visits to Lisbon, Seville, Gibraltar, Granada, Madrid, and Marrakesh taking in Roman temples, medieval alleyways, Islamic mosques and great cathedrals, as well as some of the world’s most famous art museums. Join the tour for pleasure or to take art courses for credit. Jane Cole, professor of studio art and art history at VIU, and the tour leader, will be facilitating the information sessions and sharing more details of the tour, the costs and the proposed itinerary.
