Usually someone waits to shave their head in a campaign to raise money for cancer until they have reached their goal.
A quartet of Vancouver Island University Mariners women's volleyball players have taken a different approach.
Paige Wiebe, Tylar Turnbull, Megan Rosenlund and Ashley Van Acken wanted to show how serious they were about their goal of raising $10,000 that they shaved their long golden locks to kick off their drive for the B.C. Cancer Foundation's 10K run with the Vancouver Underwear Affair on July 6.
They are entered as the Bald Beauties.
