Nursing students promote alcohol awareness

March 15, 2012 - 4:46am

BSc Nursing 314 students are raising awareness about the downside of alcohol with demonstrations by the Welcome Centre (Bldg 300) over the lunch-hour today.

Participants can wear distorted goggles that simulate the disorienting impact of alcohol and get a sense of how even simple tasks can become very difficult while “under the influence.”

A wrecked pickup truck outside emphasizes the dangers of drinking and driving.

The event is presented by nursing students involved with the Health and Wellness Desk in partnership with the Healthy U Committee.

The demonstration continues until 1 pm today, Thursday.
