What is THRIVE Week?

  • THRIVE is a week-long series of events for the entire VIU community focused on building positive mental health.
  • THRIVE is a way of thinking and acting that promotes positive mental wellbeing and resilience.
  • THRIVE is an opportunity to join others on campus to create the conditions that support positive mental well-being for our campus community.

What kind of activities fit into THRIVE week?

These can be events you are already planning that have the benefit of promoting positive mental health and are cross-promoted during THRIVE week.

  • Set up a booth, host a workshop, lecture, social or active session - it’s up to you!  
  • Get your students and colleagues involved! Create an event or activity in your class, program or department!
  • Bring your students and colleagues to a Thrive Week event or activity!

How can you get involved?

There are three ways you can participate:

  1. Be a Special Event Partner-Plan and promote a special THRIVE Event for students, faculty & staff, or all members of the VIU community.
  1. Be a THRIVE Partner-Promote your regularly scheduled event or activity as a “THRIVE” event or host an event for a specific audience such as your club or department.
  1. Be a Promotional Partner-help promote THRIVE by emailing your groups or networks, putting up posters, sharing on social media and generally encouraging attendance at events.

What Next?

Register Your Event!

Once you confirm your event/activity, email ALL event details (listed below) to by Friday September 27, 2019.

    • Late entries submitted after September 27th, 2019 may not meet the deadline for promotional material.
    • Departments and individuals participating in Thrive Week are responsible for full event/activity management including booking of rooms/locations/staffing etc.
