Is the weather getting you down? Do you need some colour and pop, some enchantment and pizzazz to brighten up the January-February blahs? Swing by Vancouver Island University’s (VIU’s) View Gallery anytime between Tuesday and Friday from 10 am to 4 pm from January 10 to February 9 to check out our 2023 Student Art Salon

The View Gallery is excited to welcome back our visual art students and start the new year by presenting a stunning showcase of works that span a spectrum of media. Painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking and photography round out this collection of exciting, creative output by our VIU students. The View Gallery is located on the second floor of Building 330 at the Nanaimo campus.

About The View Gallery

The View Gallery is VIU’s contemporary art gallery. The VIU community acknowledges and thanks the Snuneymuxw, Quw’utsun, Tla’amin, Snaw-naw-as and Qualicum First Nation on whose unceded traditional lands we teach, learn, research, live and share knowledge. Huy ch q’u.

The gallery presents all types of visual art and design, made by students, community members and professional artists. A non-commercial site, the gallery presents a mixture of programming and art events that range from curated solo and group exhibitions, touring exhibitions and annual showcases of student art. The View Gallery is run and staffed by faculty members and students in the Department of Art and Design, within the Faculty of Art and Humanities.
