Close to 400 entries were received in the Vancouver Island University’s “A Point of VIU” Photo Contest.
“The calibre of entries was exceptional," said VIU Executive Director of Public Relations Toni O’Keeffe. “We received spectacular images from all over the Island.” VIU ran the contest to raise the profile of their new name and to profile the beauty of Vancouver Island.
“Making our final selection was very difficult. In addition to looking at composition, creativity, image, balance and colour, we also looked at how well the image would fit into our marketing campaign and how well the photographer depicted Vancouver Island and the quality of life we are so fortunate to enjoy here.”
The three winning photos will be used in VIU's new “Love where you Learn” advertising campaign aimed at promoting both the University and Vancouver Island.
