VIU alum tries out for pro women’s baseball nationals
The Women’s Pro Baseball League, debuting next year, held the first pro women’s baseball tryouts in more than 80 years in August, in partnership with MLB’s Washington Nationals. Among those at the tryouts is pitcher Alli Schroeder, who has played for Canada’s national team since 2018 and became the first woman to play in the Canadian Collegiate Baseball Conference at VIU.
