VIU LAUNCHES ALUMNI CONNECT CAMPAIGN

May 3, 2013 - 5:49am

VIU’s Alumni Association is launching an exciting initiative to connect the more than 40,000 people around the world who have studied at the institution since it first started in 1936.

The Alumni Connect Campaign asks all of the institution’s alumni to take a couple of minutes to update their profile and help build the growing alumni network.

Everyone who does will be eligible to win some great prizes including three grand prizes: an iPad 4, sponsored by VIU’s Alumni Association; a getaway at the Old House Village Hotel & Spa, or $300 in gift cards from London Drugs.

“Whether you were part of the vocational trade school, studied at Malaspina or more recently at any of VIU’s four campuses, we’re asking all former students to update their profile and get connected with their Alumni Association and former classmates,” says Jacqualine Johnson who is the VIU Alumni Association President. “This is an opportunity for alumni to stay connected to friends, get connected to our global network and stay tuned to VIU news and events and their university community.”

Every week alumni who register will be entered into a draw for one of the new VIU alumni T-shirts, designed by four graduates of the university.

Everyone who updates their profile will also be entered into the grand prize draw which will be awarded after the campaign ends on June 30.

“There’s also a place on our registration form where alumni can indicate if another graduate has referred them. Every time you refer another graduate, your name gets entered again into the grand prize draw, so your odds get better and better,” says Johnson.

More information on the campaign and how to register can be found on the [Alumni Connect Campaign website]( https://www.viu.ca/alumni/connectcampaign.asp) or by calling 250.740.6215.
