VIU AND CUPE 1858 REACH TENTATIVE AGREEMENT

NANAIMO, BC – Vancouver Island University (VIU) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1858 have reached a tentative agreement for a renewed collective agreement. The University will be recommending the settlement to its Board of Governors and to the Post-Secondary Employers Association (PSEA), while CUPE has indicated that they will be recommending the settlement to its members before the end of the month.


Further details will not be made public until both parties ratify the settlement.


VIU and CUPE wish to thank students for their understanding and patience during this collective bargaining process, and express best wishes for success with their studies.
