For the second year in a row, Vancouver Island University’s Visual Arts department has secured a booth at the prestigious One of a Kind Show in Vancouver.
VIU students Julie Dives, Tani Hamagishi, Meg Fulton, Paul MacIntyre, and Lara Scarr were selected by visual art faculty to participate in the show, and will be accompanied by Art and Design Department Co- Chair and Visual Art Professor Gregory Ball.
The students will have the opportunity to represent VIU’s Visual Art Department and display their original artwork in a commercial setting. The students will also gain experience exhibiting their paintings and prints, a crucial step in the life of an emerging artist.
“The One of a Kind show is a massive and hugely popular sale of original art and craft work by over 200 different artists from Vancouver to Washington and beyond,” said Ball. “We’re thrilled our students have been invited to participate for the second year in a row. It’s a great networking opportunity.”
The One of a Kind Show will be at the Vancouver Convention Center, located downtown, and will run from Thursday, October 8 through Sunday, October 11.
