Are you fascinated by archaeology?
Check out the 2014 BC Archaeology Forum at Nanaimo’s Dorchester Hotel Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 am to 4:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to hear anthropologists and archaeologists from the University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University and the University of BC discuss archaeology projects in BC.
Talks will focus on heritage conservation and destruction, and First Nation involvement in and control over archaeology. The cost is $20 per person and includes light refreshments. Vancouver Island University students are free.
“The Forum provides a space to discuss the most pressing issues faced by archaeologists and the descendants of heritage sites,” says Vancouver Island University anthropology professor Dr. Marina La Salle. “It also serves as a place for those interested in archaeology to network with professionals in the field.”
Registration begins at 8:15am Saturday. For details, visit http://wordpress.viu.ca/archforum2014/program/
