Festivities include a poetry reading by acclaimed Vancouver poet Wayde Compton, live music from KAB of All Bent Productions, readings from Portal contributors, and tasty refreshments.

The Creative Writing department’s scholarships will be distributed at the launch to round off an exciting and productive year for students and faculty.

This year’s Portal is packed with the best student poetry, non-fiction, fiction, photography, and artwork, and features an interview with renowned author, linguist, and typographer, Robert Bringhurst.

Students in the creative writing 431 publishing class edit, produce, and market Portal and the graphic arts students design the cover. Collectively, their hard work results in a unique cultural contribution to the campus and beyond. Come out and help celebrate this important part of our community!
