June 12, 2002 - 5:00pm

Representatives of the Thomson family, owners of Paradise Island Foods in Nanaimo, were at Malaspina University-College this week to make a big contribution to support local students.

Ross Fraser, Malaspina's director of community and corporate development, was on hand to thank Len Thomson, Paradise Island Foods sales manager, and Kevin Thomson, production manager, as they handed a $10,0000 cheque to Rich Johnston, Malaspina President.

Len Thomson explained “Malaspina makes a huge difference in the quality of life in the region where we have so many valued customers.  Our family, through Paradise Island Foods, is happy to be able to make a contribution to help Malaspina offer its students the best possible education and training.”
