The co-ordinator of a microfinance program in eastern Congo aimed at some of the poorest and most vulnerable people on Earth said it all started at Vancouver Island University.
Nanaimoite and VIU global studies graduate Mike Boomer spent most of the past year in Bukavu, a city in the Democratic Republic of Congo, granting small business loans to impoverished women there.
