The students of Malaspina University-College’s Carpentry and Residential Construction program have more tools to work with in their shop thanks to the generous donation of $2,200 worth of equipment from Midland Tools of Nanaimo.
Shown in the photograph (left to right) are Malaspina University-College carpentry instructor Stephen Pelley, Midland Tools manager Jim Goehringer and carpentry tool room attendant Bill Archer.
Jim Goehringer said, “Malaspina has always supported us so it was our turn to support the carpentry students.”
Also shown in the photograph is a Bosh jig saw, Hitachi Sliding compound mitre saw,
Makita Sliding compound mitre saw, Porta Cable Worm drive circular saw and a Bosh Portable table saw donated by Midland Tools.
Steve Pelley said, “These tools mean students can try out different makes and models and having more tools in the shop means increased access and shorter waiting times. We are really thankful for Midland’s generous donation.”
