The Malaspina University-College Alumni Relations Office has postponed the "Homecoming" celebration scheduled for this weekend until May 2005.
The party was being organized to rally alumni, staff and faculty to celebrate Malaspina's 35th anniversary and the 68th anniversary of the B.C. Vocational School.
"We decided to postpone the event because there are too many competing events happening in Nanaimo at the same time," said Jon Beekman, Manager of Alumni Relations. "So we’ll celebrate in May instead."
If you graduated from degree, diploma, certificate or vocational programs from Malaspina College, Malaspina University-College or the B.C. Vocational School, Beekman wants to hear from you.
"We’re building our database and hope to contact as many former alumni as possible, including people who completed two years of post-secondary studies at Malaspina and then moved to other institutions," said Beekman. "We still consider you Malaspina alumni."
Former graduates/students can reach Beekman at (250) 740-6215 or refer to the website at www.viu.ca/alumni/ to get their names added to the database. Watch for further details about Homecoming 2005 in the months ahead.
