Malaspina University-College has signed a sistership agreement with the Red Cross College of Nursing in Seoul, Korea.

The agreement represents a desire by the institutions to broaden their commitment to health programs in both countries and to provide Korean and Canadian students opportunities for intercultural exchange as part of their education.

Signing the agreement for the Red Cross College of Nursing was Won Young Yang, dean of Red Cross Junior College of Nursing and Malaspina University-College president Rich Johnston.

"This relationship will broaden mutual understanding between our two cultures and will provide a greater educational experience for our students in health and language training programs, Johnston said."

Malaspina University-College has been involved in many overseas education programs, including nursing programs in Grenada and Hong Kong.

"We live in a multicultural society and encourage our Canadian students to cultivate intercultural understanding and communication skills. We feel this is the best way to build a harmonious global community, he said."
