Malaspina offers Power Coaching program

If you are searching for that missing piece to maximize human performance, or want to start a career as a Life Coach, a new program offered through Malaspina University-College’s Centre for Continuing Studies may be the answer.

This spring, Malaspina is offering the much sought after Power Coach Designation program featuring Power Coaching with Mind-Kinetics (PCMK).

"This program will be of interest to business leaders and entrepreneurs, including presidents and CEOs, managers, professional coaches, sports coaches, therapists, mediators, educators and health professionals," said Betska K-Burr, vice-president of research and development for Coaching and Leadership International Inc., a Canadian research and development company contracted by Malaspina to offer the program.

A free introductory session will be held at Malaspina’s Nanaimo campus on Tuesday, March 1, from 7 to 8:30 pm. For those unable to attend, a free session will be held via teleclass (over the Internet) on Wednesday, March 2, from 3 to 4:30 pm and from 7 to 8:30 pm.

The full program, Power Coach Level I, will be offered at Malaspina University-College's Nanaimo campus from April 1 to 3. Power Coach Level 2 will be offered May 6 to 8.

"Power Coaching with Mind-Kinetics (PCMK) is a set of award-winning tools and concepts used by executives and other professionals who are committed to helping others achieve a high level of success," explained K-Burr.

Mind-Kinetics is a process which stimulates use of both left and right hemispheres of the brain. It raises both intellectual and emotional levels of thinking to generate innovative solutions and faster decision-making.

"The science behind the tools works from a whole life approach with the logical mind, as well as the heart and spirit," she said. "It empowers the client to take action and make permanent positive changes to maximize performance, and change unconstructive behaviours and habits into positive ones."
