Students new to Malaspina University-College this fall are invited to attend a free day-long orientation at the Nanaimo campus August 30.
“Orientation Day is a great way for first-year students to meet new people and have fun, while being introduced to a full-range of available campus activities and resources,” said Cheryl O’Connell, Coordinator, Community and School Liaison for Student Services.
“We want new students to get the most of their Malaspina experience," she added. "Orientation can help students learn the lay of the land and find out what services and support is available to them. Our goal is help students have a successful year."
The Orientation Day, called “Connect with your World - Malaspina”, includes a parent tea, welcome barbeque for students, campus tours, entertainment, and plenty of fun activities and games, O'Connell. Current students will be available to show new students around the campus and answer questions.
In Nanaimo, two Orientation sessions will be held from 10 to 2 pm or 2 pm to 4 pm. Both sessions begin in the Malaspina Theatre. Fun activities are scheduled throughout the day to 7:30 pm, wrapping up with the barbeque.
