The public is invited to a two-day conference called Reframe2: Media and Leadership at Malaspina University-College in Nanaimo on May 13 and 14.
Hosted by the Centre for Digital Humanities Innovation (CDHI) and the Media Studies department, the conference "will showcase innovation, imagination and independence in media creation and distribution," said Dr. Marshall Soules, Chair of Media Studies at Malaspina.
"The conference will bring together artists and distributors who are reshaping the mediascape with emerging digital technologies," he added.
Presentations will be approximately 45-minutes long to allow presenters to share examples of their work and discuss strategies of creation and distribution. Uniting these innovators working in film, video, music, radio, print, and web development, the conference showcases how independent media is made, the leadership role it plays, and how it provides opportunities for networking and social dialogue.
