Graduating students display their artistic works online

It hasn't been the year anyone expected, but the Graphic Design class of 2021 is ready just the same. The graduating class is pleased to announce Far Out! The 2021 VIU Graphic Design Grad Show, launched as an online experience on Wednesday, April 28.

After spending 4,680 collective hours in class on Zoom this year, the students, working collaboratively with faculty advisors Brad Harris and Patrick Foster, have developed this online showcase for their talents and ambitions. Featuring the creative design work they built during their time at VIU, each of the graduating students will display the skills and enthusiasm they developed during their four years in the Graphic Design program.

The endeavour was led by grad show committee members: Joe Thoong, Kristin Svendsen, Laurent Rajotte, Chantelle Calitz, Casey Kirk, Journey Meyerhoff and Kaylie Russell. The students hit upon the 'Far Out!' concept and designed the site to reflect the challenges they faced – and overcame – during the past year.
