Milner Gardens & Woodland creates community gardening guide

Are you an experienced gardener? Or are you thinking of testing out your green thumb?

Vancouver Island University’s Milner Gardens & Woodland is inviting everyone to live the garden life and has created a website to celebrate the Year of the Garden. Check out Milner Gardens’ Live the Garden Life website.

The website is a community guide with local resources, which includes upcoming events, public garden information, virtual gardening seminars, gardening clubs you can join, how you can become a Master Gardener and more. Whether you want to learn about beautiful gardens in the mid-Island region to visit for inspiration or are interested in taking a gardening course, you can find it all in the online guide.

Vancouver Island Master Gardeners Association volunteers are also sharing their garden tips and tricks through a monthly gardening blog. In the most recent blog posts readers can get the inside scoop on topics such as harvesting winter greens, protecting fruit trees against pests, spring clean-up and the best times to plant your flowers and vegetables.

The year 2022 was declared the Year of the Garden by the Canadian Garden Council to celebrate the 100thanniversary of ornamental horticulture. This year, everyone is invited to celebrate Canada’s rich garden heritage and get involved, learn more or get inspired to garden.
