July 24, 2002 - 5:00pm

A lecture classroom in the Business Management department at Malaspina University-College will be permanently named in honour of a $25,000 gift from the Canadian Western Bank.

Many of Malaspina’s business courses are taught in the room.  The gift is a contribution by the Canadian Western Bank to Malaspina’s “New Library” campaign which will significantly expand the central campus’ library and its facilities for Malaspina’s 10,000 students.

Rod Sorbo, Canadian Western Bank’s vice president and regional manager for British Columbia, Ross Fraser from Malaspina's corporate and community relations office, and holding the plaque that will be displayed at the classroom entrance is Canadian Western Bank’s President Larry Pollock, assistant vice president and local branch manager Russ Burke, with Malaspina University-College Foundation Chair Fred Kolodrubsky.

The Canadian Western Bank is also a sponsor of the Foundation’s annual Festival of Trees celebration at Beban Park in November.
