VIU Baking Students Train with UK Baking Superstar

VIU’s Professional Baking and Pastry program welcomed artisan baking superstar Wayne Caddy last week for a packed baking industry event and intensive student workshops. Caddy (centre), shown with (l-r) Baking students Jordyn Antioski, Sierra McIsaac and Adler Rabson, is Captain of the UK’s World Baking Cup team, and Head of Baking at the world famous School of Artisan Food near Nottingham, UK. Presented by the Baking Association of Canada’s BC chapter, Caddy’s visit to VIU Sept. 22-25 provided students, Baking alumni, and industry professionals with demonstrations of his pioneering techniques and the newest innovations in bread from Europe.
