Students living in the Cowichan Valley and surrounding area can now study business closer to home.
Malaspina University-College will begin offering the first-year of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at the Cowichan campus in September 2006.
Courses in the first year program will include Accounting, English, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Quantitative Methods.
Once they’ve completed the first year, students will complete the BBA program at the Nanaimo campus.
"Malaspina University-College's Faculty of Management is very pleased to offer the complete first year of the BBA degree at the Cowichan Campus," said Mike Mann, Dean of Management programs. "We know there are a growing number students from the Cowichan area and this will afford them the opportunity to begin their degree studies closer to home. The new BBA is proving to be very popular, and the Cowichan program allows us to serve more students throughout our university college region."
Mann said exciting changes are underway in Malaspina's Faculty of Management, including the development, revision and expansion of programs. In the BBA program, students can specialize in Economics, Financial Economics, Hospitality Management, International Business and Human Resource Management.
Students can find out more about the new BBA program at an information session for University Programs, which takes place on March 15 at the Cowichan Campus, 7 pm in Room 126, Building One.
