Organizers of Milner Gardens Christmas Magic have been forced to postpone the opening of this popular Christmas event for one week.
The annual “Lights and Music in the Garden” scheduled to open Dec. 1, will now open and run Thursday, Dec. 7 to 10 and again Dec. 14 to 20.
Severe winter weather has created many problems for the event, including difficult access to the site and damage to many of the Christmas light displays.
Executive director Geoff Ball expects a break in the weather will allow staff at the garden to prepare for the event.
Ball encourages the public to come out Dec. 7 and enjoy a candlelit walk down the forest path leading to the gardens. Decorative festive lights, holiday displays, and groups of performing musicians presenting holiday music will entertain visitors throughout the 10 acre heritage garden. Santa Claus will also be on hand in the Food Garden’s gazebo to greet children of all ages.
Visitors are encouraged to bring along a flashlight to join in the “procession of lights” down the forest trail to the Garden.
This is a fundraising event. Admission is by donation.
