Virtual Field Trip: Kitchen Seed Hunt

Author: Pamela Murray

A Shoots with Roots adventure

Join Pam from the Shoots with Roots program at VIU's Milner Gardens & Woodland on a virtual field trip to her kitchen to find out how many seeds are hiding in the cupboards:

This virtual field trip supports the following Big Ideas in the British Columbia Science Curriculum:

K - Plants and animals have observable features.

1 - Living things have features and behaviours that help them survive in their environment.

2 - Living things have life cycles adapted to their environment.

3 - Living things are diverse, can be grouped and interact in their ecosystems.

The seed hunt, collecting, and labelling activity also supports the development of curricular competencies for multiple grade levels.

The story Pam reads is A Seed is Sleepy - by Dianna Hutts Aston, illustrated by Sylvia Long. The authour's website is https://diannahaston.com/a-seed-is-sl...
